You’re looking at four hardwoods having a conversation — and somehow, they all agree.
Handcrafted in New Hampshire by Wilbur Woodworking, this edge-grain cutting board is built from cherry, Peruvian walnut, purpleheart, and bloodwood, arranged into a stripe pattern that moves from pale and luminous at the edges to deep and dramatic through the center. The result looks like something that took a designer hours to plan. It didn’t. It took a woodworker who knows how to let great materials do the talking.
At 14″ × 8″ × 1.25″, it’s got the real estate for serious prep work — and the looks to earn a permanent spot on your counter.
The Woods That Built It
Cherry – Warm, honeyed, and abundant here — the wide, glowing strips that frame and breathe through the whole board. It’ll deepen to an even richer amber tone as it ages.
Peruvian Walnut – The dark, near-black bands that anchor the center and give the board its drama. Rich and fine-grained, it’s the quiet heaviness that makes the lighter woods pop.
Purpleheart – Bold violet running through the middle like a signature. Completely natural, completely unapologetic.
Bloodwood – Just a sliver, but you see it immediately: that thin line of deep copper-red sitting between the walnut and the purpleheart, glowing like an ember. The detail that makes the whole thing click.
Built to Work
Edge-grain construction keeps this board strong, stable, and easy on your knife edges. Every surface is hand-sanded smooth and treated with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax for lasting protection and a finish that makes every stripe of color sing. Rubber feet keep it planted wherever you set it down.
